Lucky Seven

19 July, 2012

I have been tagged with the Lucky Seven meme by tryingtowriteit  so here goes…

LUCKY SEVEN

It works like this:

  1. Go the 7th or 77th page of your work in progress
  2. Go to the 7th line of the page
  3. Copy the next 7 sentences or paragraphs. Remember, they must be as they are typed.
  4. Tag 7 authors.
  5. Let them know they’re it!

I am writing in word so the pages aren’t accurate compared to writing in a proper author program, but here goes:

Tim, naturally, followed suit. Gina closed the door, giving it an habitual extra shove to ensure it closed completely in the snug aperture, before crossing the room to join them at the desk. Tim took this opportunity to quickly glance around the office. A few books on shelves, a half-size filing cabinet and a television on a small corner unit ensured that the austerity theme was continued, even in this, the owner’s private office. A mantelpiece over a redundant fireplace was home to a few nick-nacks and what were probably holiday souvenirs. A ten-by-eight black and white photo was framed above the fireplace and featured a group of four smiling children in party hats, sat at a rustic kitchen table. One of these, he presumed, was Gina.

You can read the full novel in about, oh i dont know, five years time when it’s finished 🙂

As i always say, i dont follow that many people so im not sure i know 7 people who have a major WIP in progress. But the people i am tagging and would love a sneak preview from are:

  1. My post would be blank bc I write short stories, but thanks for the nod!

  2. TheOthers1 permalink

I love the word “aperture”. It just sounds awesome. I have a few stories I can use for this. I’ll work something up.

  3. I already want to know more about Gina’s deal. Thanks for teasing.
