GAW News Update

27 July, 2012

For those still following the interminable and ultimately doomed story of my pursuit of GAW, here is a report of yesterday’s conversation:

GAW: 3 weeks till my holiday! Yay! 2 weeks off!

TRG: I’ll really miss you, who will i go on tea runs with? Who will i gossip with?

GAW: They’re always *blank* [her sister, also works here]

TRG: Yeah maybe, but it won’t be the same.

GAW: No.

TRG: You’re my favourite *surname*, you know that.

GAW [smiles]

Dont get excited, the exchange wasnt over a candlelit dinner, or below a star-filled sky. Rather it was at the coffee machine, and we barely made eye contact.

Separately,  a friend had nerves over disciplining a colleague recently, and i suggested doing it on friday so that the weekend would allow the dust to settle afterwards. Similarly, i am forming a plan to declare my feelings for GAW the day before she goes on holiday. Then she will have 2 weeks to decide that she (hopefully) doesnt want to slap me and we can still be friends without it being awkward. Or maybe it spoil things completely. Because really i know there is no chance, and i can only fuck it up from here.

So perhaps i’ll just not tell her. Easier all round.

    Sigh. Ensaddening.

    • heck, im used to it. one day i will start posting the “Girls TRG has fallen for who are unavailable, uninterested or both” series. A lengthy list i can assure you.
luckily i have enough residual smile left in my mood tank at the moment to keep the Black Dog away.

    Tell her!

    • If i (a) had the nerve and (b) thought it would achieve anything then i would. But thanks for your encouragement!
If i do tell her, it will be reported on THIS VERY BLOG!

Hmm, perhaps it will go better than you think. If not at least you get a few days before you see her again.

    • i love your positive thinking! okay maybe she wont punch me, but she wont kiss me either.
Those few days will be quite handy, thats wht i thought maybe then would be good. but i know i’ll probably woose out anyway 🙂

  4. Go on… go for it, otherwise you’ll never know! oh, I’ve just seen the time, I think this comment is too late

    • Ive got 3 weeks still in which to decide.
I do appreciate everyone’s encouragement but sadly i’m pretty sure i know the outcome – slight awkward feet shuffling, “im flattered but…” and hopefully we will then have 2 weeks to try to pretend it never happened.
