Friday Fictioneers – Clouds In Toronto

31 August, 2012

As always, I have come in at exactly 100 words, it’s a matter of principle now that I get it spot on.

Thanks to Madison for this prompt. All comments and criticism welcome.

As the plane emerged from the low clouds, her unease was caused as much by trepidation as the speed of descent. Paris had been fun, a dream, but a six month sabbatical had slowly turned into eight years of escape, avoidance.

The previous week’s phone call had reawakened thoughts of her past. Thoughts she had buried deep beneath more recent, happier memories of study, art, friendships, romance. And the news it brought had told her it was time to return to Toronto, to face her past, to confront those who had betrayed her.

She fastened her seatbelt. She expected turbulence.

  1. WOW!!! So much packed into so few words. Well done my friend!!!

  2. I like it…wouldn’t mind reading more :). Well done!

  3. TheOthers1 permalink

Teasing me with this. I agree with Marian about packing a lot in this piece. Nicely done.
