Choon Choosday *BONUS* : Aphex Twin – Avril 14

11 September, 2012

As I am off work this week, here is a special bonus extra treat. Richard D James is my all-time musical hero, and I could spend all day linking his entire back catalogue, but I shall restrain myself.  I posted Donkey Rhubarb before which is my joint favourite Aphex tune, and here is the other one. A piano solo so beautiful I start to cry before it even starts, and I am in tears for a good five minutes afterwards. The counter melody in the last verse is extraordinary, and although I’m no pianist I’m told you need a third hand to play it.

Ladies and gentleman, Richard D James.

  1. So damn beautiful… On a day such as this, it’s a good tune to listen to and reflect. Haunting.

  2. Beautiful. And yes, quite moving.
