So why even ask?

21 November, 2012

I have said before that i am fed up with my job. I arrive an hour before i get paid to so that i can fit all the work i have to do into the day, and rarely take my full lunch break. i am NEVER late, i am NEVER ill. If i have time off, i have to work extra hard beforehand to avoid leaving too much for my boss to cover, and then when i get back i have to catch up with what she leaves undone. Whereas if she has a holiday, i get to work extra hard before she is off to try to clear time in my schedule to do her job too.

Am i appreciated? About three times a year, if i happen to rant about how FUCKING busy i am, she might say “well i appreciate all your hard work.” Oh, well thats alright then.

Am i respected? Let me quote a conversation we had today:

Boss: I need to take a couple of days off for christmas shopping in the next few weeks, are there any days i should avoid?

Me: Fridays. Fridays are always incredibly busy.

B: Ah. One of the days has to be a friday, that’s the only day the person I’m shopping with is free.

Me: Great. Well, whatever. Just not next week, it’s month end, it will be carnage.

B: Ah. Well one of the days has to be next Thursday.

Seriously, why even fucking ask me?
