Choon Choosday: John Hegley – Eddie Don’t Like Furniture

Okay, I know music posts are not very popular and mine don’t get many hits or likes, but this week I am actively encouraging you to make an exception and give this one a go. It’s a complete change from the thump thump thump stuff I usually post which is just noise that has no real tune you can whistle, and words you can hardly hear. John Hegley is a fine poet – sometimes comic, sometimes whimsical, sometimes profound – and about twenty years ago he brought out a CD on spoken word and musical poetry. I was one of very few that bought it, it is marvellous, and this track is the highlight for me. If you like your poetry with a very English flavour, and sung to musical accompaniment then you may surprise yourself and agree with me that this week’s selection is  a

  1. hmm well sharing my morning tune doesn’t seem appropriate this morning but just incase anyone misses the bump bump bump music as my dad used to refer to it this mornings second tune on the IPod (the first was kylie so didn’t count) was…

    Very interesting… I have never heard this before and even though it isn’t my personal style, I like it. And it is very catchy!
