Choon Choosday: John Hegley – Eddie Don’t Like Furniture

Okay, I know music posts are not very popular and mine don’t get many hits or likes, but this week I am actively encouraging you to make an exception and give this one a go. It’s a complete change from the thump thump thump stuff I usually post which is just noise that has no real tune you can whistle, and words you can hardly hear. John Hegley is a fine poet – sometimes comic, sometimes whimsical, sometimes profound – and about twenty years ago he brought out a CD on spoken word and musical poetry. I was one of very few that bought it, it is marvellous, and this track is the highlight for me.
