The weather’s broken

2 April, 2013

I don’t want to sound like I’m a stereotypical Brit, but seriously, this weather is just bonkers.  It was Easter at the weekend, April Fools Day too, and we changed the clocks do that we are now in British Summer Time. Ha ha. But we are still scraping ice off the car before going to work. Overnight temperatures of -5C are the norm, and that’s down on the south coast. Scotland are having -10C and lower, and Wales still has snowdrifts from last week. Oh, and speaking of snow, we are due some tomorrow.

Last year we didn’t have a summer so none of the veg I planted grew, except for the beetroot and some of the onions. So far this year, I haven’t put a single seed in the ground because it’s been too cold. I’ve got a few seeds on the windowsill indoors, but i’ve no idea when or if they will be planted out. It’s mad. Someone needs to find the switch that works the seasons and switch them off and on again.

On the plus side though, it’s been gloriously sunny today. Bitterly cold in the Siberian wind, but sunny. Here is the River Itchen this evening:

  1. It’s trying to warm up over here. Very very slowly. At the moment the snow is gone, but I’m not sure it’s for good yet.

  2. Love the picture it looks warm and beautiful even it the “warm” part is still taking a while to catch up. It is like 30 degrees in Boston right now, but spring is coming you will see Gentleman.

  3. I love to come here… usually whining about women… but now the Weather! Please use the Fahrenheit temperature scale from now on, so I will know what you are talking about.
