You can play this anytime, anywhere, to anyone. It’s a stone cold, solid gold classic. Genuinely one of those moments that transcends tastes and genres and touched perfection. I love a tune that you can deconstruct and find that every part is a the top of their game. It’s not just Aretha, the greatest soul voice of all time (yes, even more so than James Brown), it’s the bass, the drums, the piano, the glorious horn section break. And yes, it’s the finest backing vocal performance ever put down in vinyl that make this a

  1. FINALLY! Each Tuesday I peek in with trepidation to see the Choon, only to sneak out shaking my head and wondering ‘What The Hell???’. Today is a glorious day… I’m staying for awhile.

    • i have quite a wide musical taste, we were bound to coincide sooner or later 🙂 maybe i should write a GAW post now i have lured you back in!
