Saturday Smile – 21st September

21 September, 2013

It was a short week back at work this week, but so busy it felt like I did an extra day rather than a day less. But do I let it get me down? Yes actually I do, but as is now traditional I spend Saturday morning looking back and finding things that made me smile in the last seven days. And there are always a few. For example:

  • Taking responsibility for sorting my sister’s Big Birthday next month and sourcing two stalls tickets to the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden
  • Mentally planning where all the stuff will go in my new shed, and putting up some shelves. All by myself
  • Posting a present to my friends’ daughter, which Amazon sent anonymously, resulting in a FB message thanking “whoever” sent such a “genius” present
  • Deciding to make mini Christmas cakes this weekend, the first step towards this year’s Christmas hampers

So, how about you? Been a-smilin’ this week?

  1. Two stalls tickets to the Royal Ballet?
I dream about being able to afford those, we’re usually up in the gods with the other paupers

    • Well we are splitting the cost across the family and it *is* a big birthday!
I’ve never been to the ROH and whenever I’ve been to the Albert Hall it’s been as a prommer

      • Hope she thoroughly enjoys her ROH experience.
One day I will take my girls to the ballet in style, we’ll sit in the stalls and sigh over the amazing sights on stage, especially the technical brilliance.
And I’ve never been to the Albert Hall!

      • Im sure she will, and i hope you get to the stalls soon.
I love the albert hall, it’s a wonderul venue. i have only been there for the Proms though but i have been enough to know where the best bars are nearby and the best sandwich shop, and what time to start queueing each day!
Ah the Proms! the best music and the best orchestras in the world, every nigh for just £5 a head. Thank you BBC 🙂
