Friday Fictioneers – Gulls

4 October, 2013

Frific greetings to you, Frificers! Especially to Rochelle, supplier of prompts to writers the world over. Here is this week’s:

I has writed an story about this picture. Feel free to read it and then comment belowwwww.

It seems obvious to us as we look from here, from now, into their future and our past.

Too few of them noticed the change in behaviour of gulls and still fewer made the connections between this and the birds’ diet, their diet and the sea, the sea and what was being poured into it.

If enough of them had listened, believed, recognised the flutter of the butterfly’s wing in the angry, violent acts of the gulls, they could have acted. But they trusted the naysayers and they carried on.

And made the seas today a hostile, poisonous, inhospitable place.

“And made the seas today a hostile, poisonous, inhospitable place.”
    Sad, but true.

I liked your story. A piece of reality exposed in few words.

  2. My darling, this is beautiful. Heartfelt and sad. Such poetry without meaning to be. Be still my heart.

  3. Lovely sadness!!!
