15 October, 2013

If google translate is right, and it often is, the title above is “I am excited” in icelandic. Apologies for the lack of accents though, i don’t know how to do those on WP.  Anyway, I say “I am excited” because I am. I’ve decided that next year I am finally going to Reykjavik for my holiday. For about twenty years it has been one of those places that has sat on my bucket list and I have never actually done anything about visiting, but last week I decided that 2014 will be the year I finally go.

I spent a bit of today at work researching hostels and flights and although I’m not going to book anything until after christmas, the decision has been made. The northern lights (hopefully), the extraordinary volcanic topography, the hot spas gushing from beneath the surface of the earth, the legendary Reykjavik nightlife – they’re all on my to do list, and next September I will do them.

So as a special treat, here is a video of The Sugarcubes and the most extraordinary vocal performance from a very young Ms B Gudmundsdottir:

  1. Make sure you take your camera will be jealously awaiting photos

  2. Sounds Awesome!

  3. Can I vicariously go too? I’ll just sit in front of my computer in NJ USA and look at the pictures you post 😀

    • i’ve booked a vicarious ticket for you on the flight. Turns out you get a free one for a friend with every purchase!
I’m even going to buy a decent camera so i hope i can do Iceland and the camera justice with my pics.
