Friday Fictioneers – Inside

25 October, 2013

Hola chicos y chicas, es viernes. And this particular viernes is the First Frificiversary of Rochelle taking over the helm and guiding the Good Ship FriFic. At the risk of tooting my own tuba, can I direct you to a few of my favourite Fics I have written during the last year – fireworks,   birthday,    fair    and    creatures.

OK, back to this week. I don’t know how Rochelle finds such interesting and diverse prompts, but here is another great pic this week:
dismantled-keyboardHere is my 100-word offering. Feel free to comment, criticise, correct.

I play that keyboard every day. Music relaxes me, quietens any darker thoughts. But yesterday I believed that if I cut it open and looked inside, I would see the sound, the soul of the music. I realise now how that sounds, but the voice is so persuasive, I couldn’t tell it no.

Yesterday was a momentary slip. The voice has been quiet for so long. It’s the first time it has spoken to me since I’ve been in here. Since they stopped me. Since those days when I believed I could look inside a person and see their soul.

  1. Dear TRG,

Very spooky but i liked it. You captured the essence (as far as I understand it) of schizophrenia. Well done.

    Aloha,

    Doug

I love the connection you made at the end of the tale.

  6. Oooh! That last line gives me the chills!

  7. That creates shivers, great job 🙂

  8. Very, Very dark and ugly, but beautiful all the same. I wish those voices would shut up.

  9. Very dark indeed, but done extremely well.

  10. Ghoulish enough for the coming holiday…happy halloween! 🙂

  11. Wow; well better to dismantle a key board than a neighbor.
