Friday Fictioneers – Maze

15 November, 2013

It’s Friday and that means it’s time to squeeze a whole story into just 100 words. Frificing legend Rochelle supplies the pic:

and we supply the fic:

Another right turn and ahead of me I saw light. The outside. There was just one route out, one path to freedom and a pardon. The four other exits opened on to the cliff top where I would face a choice – falling, or fighting for my life and for the entertainment of the Duke and the gathered crowds above.

My breaths and my footsteps echoed around me. Those of my pursuer, the Duke’s champion, grew closer. I could hear the shouts ahead of me. I placed a tired hand on my sword’s hilt and ran faster towards the light.

  1. brilliance once again my friend! you have an amazing ability to say so much with 100 words and a picture; I could feel his exhaustion and determination as I read on while my inner voice was shouting “hurry, run, don’t trip but hurry! There’s a TARDIS waiting for you, just a little further but hurry!!!”
well done my very British friend 😉

  2. I too was panting, lol. Great piece 🙂

  3. Dear RG,

Quite a chase. I’m a little breathless myself. Hope the light leads to the way out. Good one.

  4. Not much of a choice. Game of Thrones continues…

  5. If by chance he wins the fight, does he get a chance at thumbs up or just get killed anyway?
