Choon Choosday: Will Smith – Will 2K

31 December, 2013

There are literally billions of songs about Christmas. DJs and shop owners only seem to know about five of them and put them on repeat from the 15th of November to the 25th of December, but trust me there are loads. New Year songs, on the other hand, are a little rarer. There is Auld Lang Syne and… erm… that’s it. Oh, apart from this little nugget from the Fresh Prince himself. Admittedly it’s specifically about one New Years Eve in particular and as such is 14 years out of date, but that won’t stop me playing it. Will Smith is one of my musical guilty pleasures, I know he is cheesily poppy and his films are, generally speaking, shockingly lowbrow self-congratulation, but I do like his records.

So here is one to celebrate the incoming 2014.
