Choon Choosday: Bugsy Malone Soundtrack – You Give A Little Love

It’s Valentine’s Day this week, and as  I have already posted the most romantic song of all time, this week I’ve chosen a choon that happens to have the word “love” in it.

Bugsy Malone is one of my favourite films ever. A great idea carried through to a great film. Excellent performances from a young cast, some of whom went on to greater things, and an underlying sense of comedy and fun. This song is the highlight of a great soundtrack. It’s so simple but isn’t that the case with many of the best songs?

I often daydream about being a DJ. Not a house DJ who plays the big clubs, I can’t beatmatch and can’t mix, but a DJ who plays eclectic stuff to an informed clientelle in a pub on saturday night. And in those daydreams, this is what I finish every set with. It’s a great singalong, it leaves everyone on a high, and of course it’s a
