Choon Choosday: Lemon Jelly – Experiment no. 6

Not sure why, but this tune came into my head the other day and I thought I would share it with you. Lemon Jelly tend to make quite jolly almost pop-ish tunes and although on the surface it is quite a foot-tapper and seemingly quite innocent with its intriguing double-bass line underneath it, on closer inspection (and indeed closer listening) it’s in a very sinister minor key and its lyrics are somewhat disturbing.

Who is being experimented on? Or what is being experimented on? By whom? And to what end? I have no idea. But that just makes this more of a

  1. The clear, upper class technocratic accent doesn’t help, or does it?

  2. You would not want to listen to this on acid lol although I confess I found it rather hypnotic
