Choon Choosday: U2 feat Harlem Gospel Choir – I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

This is from the Rattle and Hum DVD and CD which I haven’t seen or heard for years, but for some reason this version of the U2 song came into my head the other day and I knew it was going on the Choon list.

It’s quite a good tune in its original form on The Joshua Tree, but this collaboration is far superior. The choir give it a strength and a power that Bono can’t give it on his own, and I thought from the first time I saw the DVD that they had taken the song, gave it a bit of a cook up and served it back up to the band how it should be done. Just brilliant. The choir do a fine job as backing vocals but it’s when they take over that the tune becomes a
