Friday Fictioneers – Missing

One thing that you never get told and you have to find out for yourself – life speeds up the older you get. On the plus side, this means that Friday comes round faster every week, and there seems to be less time to wait for Rochelle‘s prompt pic. Here is this week’s:


Much like last week, there is a lot of potential in this pic for diverse fiction. This is where my head led me:


I never meant any harm, I never meant for things to turn out like this. It all happened so quickly and then I was stuffing things in a bag, desperate to get away.
I ration my radio batteries and only turn on for the headlines. Every day they’ve been the same:
“Boy still missing”.

I hear voices, I see the light from a torch. I keep quiet but I know there is only one way out of this tunnel. I feel tears gathering. After six days hidden down here they’re going to find me.

But will they find the boy?

  6. Very dark. I let myself be misled too, and don’t complain. 🙂 Good story.
