Choon Choosday: Barry Manilow – Bermuda Triangle

Everyone has their Guilty Pleasure artists, and the mighty Barry Manilow is one of mine. Not that I feel guilty, the man has written some brilliant songs which we can all enjoy with varying spoonfuls of irony.

Bermuda Triangle makes it onto the ChCh list ahead of other classics for one main reason – the shameless way Barry rhymes “triangle” with “my angle”. Yes, the string accompaniment is quite fun and it has that latin horn section but it’s that one inspired couplet that makes this even more of a

chooooooooonn!!

  1. Columbia House 8 track circa 1976 – I danced and sang along with the man who writes the songs that make the whole world sing. It was a true blue spectacle. What fun! Those were the days.
