Choon Choosday: Peter Gabriel – Intruder

How do you classify Peter Gabriel? What pigeon-hole genre would you put him into? I’ve no idea, and he doesn’t record in one specific style. Plus, as I’ve said before, there are only two genres in art anyway; Good and Bad.

This is from his third solo eponymous album which also features the more famous Games Without Frontiers and Biko, but I’ve gone for this more sinister album-opener. And although I have always taken the lyrics at face value , they could also apply the increasing amount of cyber-crime and hacking of recent times, especially the Talk Talk hack of last week. Or you can just enjoy Phil Collins putting in a fine shift behind the ol’ animal skins.
