Choon Choosday: Kris Kross – Jump

As I’ve said before, there are only two genres that matter; good music and bad music. And I am happy to admit to liking tunes that people scoff at or by bands I hate. Kris Kross have a bad press and many would say for good reason – a manufactured outfit cynically designed to appeal to a youth market, with a ridiculous attempt to start a fashion of wearing your jeans backwards. All of which are stupid ideas and their career rightly lasted for precisely one song.

Love the song but the record company was obviously too stupid to realise their intended audience for this group still needed mum and dad to hand over pocket money to get sales and that while some parents (myself included occasionally) may be over indulgent, they still had to take the kids to the store to spend the money, it does though make you think if they tried this now with the social media that did not exist back then whether those backwards jeans might have indeed become fashion? Scary thought!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • In these modern times kids might end wearing their jeans in other crazy impractical ways like.. oh i dont know.. hanging down below their arse 🙂
