C – Friday Fictioneers – Cars

26 February, 2016

Apologies for my lack of FriFic last week, I was away and having far too much fun. But this week I was back, eagerly sitting by my inbox and waiting for the arrival of Rochelle‘s prompt pic

which this week comes from the viewfinder of AL Forbes.

You know the drill by now – head over to Frogtown to read everybody else’s 100 words, then pop back to read mine and leave some criticism in the box provided.

“Why do you need three cars,” she asks me, “you can only drive one at a time.”

Two of them aren’t for driving, they’re for renovating and showing. And I tow them to rallies on the trailer, so yes, I can drive more than one at a time.

She used to come with me when we first met but now she goes shopping instead. If I’m going to spend money on cars, she says, she’s going to spend some on shoes.

“Why do you need all those shoes?” I ask her, “you can only wear one pair at a time.”

  1. Ha ha ha irony thy name is this guy! In my case it’s DVDs and books not shoes but I’ve heard the same complaint! Great prompt take this week

  2. Dale permalink

That age-old fight of who “wastes” money on what!

  3. Haha, it’s fishing and books here in this place… This is so well constructed, I like how the last paragraph mirrors the first. The story comes full circle.

  4. This made me smile, great.

  5. Hahaha! I have to butt in… It’s a girl thing, the shoes. Just as cars are men’s. 😀 Entertaining tale, Mr. RG!

  6. Turn-about is fair play. Not one for shoes but I bet she still spends less on more. Nicely constructed, and the full-circle aspect gives it impact.

  7. Well they both have a point. 🙂

  8. We discuss this at work, often, the things people spend their money on. As with your story, its always amusing.

  9. He has a valid point! She doesn’t really need them all, does she, at least not for functional purposes. Fun take, TRG!

  10. Why ask Why? Thanks for the chuckle. I like the way you wrapped the story around to the same question.

  11. Good story, RC. They both have good arguments. They’ll just have to agree to disagree. Well done. 🙂 — Suzanne

  12. Great story and photo!

  13. Me’ thinks they need a gentleman’s agreement! Enjoyed!

  14. 😀 Perfect couple. He splurges on cars, she spends on shoes.
