Choon Choosday: The Stone Roses – I Am The Resurrection

29 March, 2016

I hope everyone had a nice Easter break. I had a lazy and relaxing one till last night when Storm Katie arrived and blew 70+mph winds all along the south coast. That didn’t make for a quiet night’s sleep at all.

Anyway, moving on, it’s time for an Easter-based choon. I was going to post Chas and Dave singing Rabbit but it seems I’ve already done that, so here instead are The Stone Roses. One of the most influential British bands of the last thirty years and following on a Manchester pedigree that included Joy Division / New Order and of course the incomporable The Smiths, The Stone Roses famously recorded the greatest debut album ever and then took about a million years to make a followup. IATR comes from that eponymous debut and features a band at the height of its power. Vocal, bass, drum and guitar are all exceptional here but it’s John Squire’s sublime guitar solos and riffs in the second half that really stand out and make this a true

choooooooonn!!
