Choon Choosday: Gomez – Get Miles

I’ve been linking tunes every week for nearly four years and every now and again I am surprised that a particular song hasn’t been featured yet. Get Miles is one of those.

As with many of these links, each of the band’s members is on top form but it’s clearly the vocal, sounding like it’s soaked in Jack Daniels and lived a hard life down in the Ol’ South, that is far above everything else here. I heard this album loads of times before I saw what they looked like and it’s safe to say I hadn’t pictured the singer looking like an IT engineer in an office somewhere.

So feel free to close your eyes when you listen to this if you don’t want to spoil the illusion and find they are a bunch of pasty-looking guys from Southport.  But make sure you do listen – it’s a
