Choon Choosday: Warren Zevon – Werewolves of London

It’s always fun to throw in a themed song once in a while on a Choosday, so why not have a Hallowe’en one this week? It’s a truly terrifying video – how could Mr Zevon take himself so seriously and think he was so mean whilst going “aaaaahooooooooo”? How does he get away with mentioning Kent in a song about London? And are we really supppose to think that guy wearing a false beard is a bloodthirsty hellhound?

I guess we can forgive his geographical ignorance and his sneery top lip, and even the fact the whole song is a rip off of Sweet Home Alabama, because it’s a

 

choooooooooooooooooonn!!

  1. Yes he has a good voice – but I much prefer Sweet Home Alabama. I don’t know if he was on a money-spinner for Halloween (is so it worked) or if it was produced to go with a TV special? The bit I cringe at is “I saw Lon Chaney Jnr walking with the Queen – doing the werewolves of London” – wtf?
