Choon Choosday: Fatboy Slim – Everybody Needs a 303

Norman Cook has an awesome talent for building loops on loops, chucking a vocal sample over the top and creating stupidly catchy tune. Here is a brilliant example of such, featuring a wonderfully acid freakout after the drop, and a drum pattern nicely reminiscent of the legendary Amen break.

  1. I have just spent an enjoyable few minutes bopping around to this whilst tidying. This took me back to dancing my head off to the sounds from Fat Boy Slim at London’s Wag Club in the 80s.

  2. Notes Bar has now closed. I think it got started at the wrong time of year. Still we have Pete Tong to look forward to at the next Common People 2017.
