Choon Choosday: The Bodysnatchers – Do Rock Steady

It’s been mentioned before on these pages that I love ska, and I love 2-Tone. I’ve even decided that my next tattoo will be of the man in the 2-Tone logo. So I was shocked to find I hadn’t played you anything by The Bodysnatchers yet. Yes I could go on about how they were an all-girl band in a movement (and indeed an industry) dominated by men, and that is very commendable, but I doubt they would want to be defined just by their gender; when it sounds this good, it doesn’t matter if they’re boys or girls. What’s important is that you can’t sit still when you listen to this, it’s infectious, it’s happy, it’s ska, it’s a
