Woopwoopwoop! This is your Report To The Dance Floor Alarm!

I often wonder how music works, how do some combinations of notes sound flat and dull whilst others get inside you and make you want to dance, cry, shout, love, create, sleep, run, hide, whatever. I genuinely have no idea, but sometimes a tune just has that something. Insomnia is an epic, it defines the word choon. The first six and a half minutes are top drawer in their own right, but they are filled with coiled tension because you know that they are leading up to the greatest riff in electronic music history. It simply doesn’t get any bigger than this.

  1. Now you know you had me dancing in my chair! But I have to be honest it was not so much a question of listening to it as reliving the experience of it, the sweaty bodies on the dance floor moving to the same beats, the bass vibrating through your soul and the pure joy of being totally lost in a moment

    • You were foremost in my mind when I posted this! You’re right, it’s not just a tune it’s an experience. An absolute epic. Just a shame the big riff at the end doesn’t last long enough, I could have that on loop all day 🙂

  2. Apt as is now 3.10am. It took me back to my final clubbing bashes in Portugal and Spain before realising I was pregnant. Bits are used so much now for club scenes on TV – but it was great to listen to this uncut version. Ta
