Choon Choosday: Sigur Rós – Fljótavík

Who doesn’t love Sigur Rós, right? OK there have been unfortunate and regrettable (and if proved, hateful) reports around their now-ex drummer last year but I’m not here to talk about that. This link is here to share with you the extraordinary beauty of their music, particularly of more recent years when they have worked with strings and other elements of the orchestra to bring even more added depth to their extraordinary and unique sound.

They could only have originated from a country as culturally unique as Iceland, which is just one of many reasons to love this piece. And, of course, this is an absolute

  1. I saw them play at the Eden project; one of the most middle class gigs I’ve ever been to but absolutely spellbinding!
